Dr. Jack McGarry
Dr. McGarry completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M) from Pennsylvania College of Podiactric Medicine in 1985 and has been practicing podiatry for over 30 years.
Dr. McGarry has been in practice since 1987. He is a past director of the Residency Training Program at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital from 1993 until 2004. He’s been active in education at both the state and national levels. Dr. McGarry is also a past president of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. McGarry is married with two children. He has a great love for the outdoors and for endurance sports. He has climbed all of the 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado at least once, is a fourth degree black belt in aikido and has also ridden his bicycle across the United States from the West Coast to the East Coast.
Dr. McGarry is presently devoted to trail running. He has run trail races from a marathon to a 100 mile race and is most passionate about the Leadville 100 trail race. As a result of his own personal devotion to running, he feels a great commitment to treating athletes of all sports and abilities in addition to treating patients for other types of foot issues.

Dr. Kaitlyn Bernhard
Originally from central Pennsylvania, Dr. Bernhard completed her undergraduate studies at Mercyhurst University with honors in a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following in her father’s footsteps she received her doctorate at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. A 2017 graduate from Highlands-Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program, she was extensively trained in reconstructive and trauma surgery involving the forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle.
Dr. Bernhard joined Foot Specialist Associates, P.C. in May 2018 to provide comprehensive foot and ankle care. She is board qualified in foot surgery and in rearfoot and ankle surgery. Her specialties include foot and ankle reconstructions, trauma, and sports medicine. She is credentialed at Porter Adventist Hospital, Littleton Adventist Hospital, Swedish Medical Center, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Rocky Mountain Surgery Center.
Outside of podiatry, Dr. Bernhard and her husband enjoy spending time with their three dogs. Her husband, Andrew Bernhard, DPM is also a podiatrist practicing in the High Country. Together they enjoy skiing, mountain biking, paddleboarding, and trail running.0
As a foot and ankle surgeon and clinician, Dr. Bernhard believes by improving her patients’ lower extremity health will allow them the opportunity to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle for longevity.
